The Vessel Frame is a beautiful desk or wall mounted picture frame that shows realtime information on vessels nearby.

As ships sail on the water they automatically exchange specific information about themselves, including their name, speed, heading, dimensions, draught and a whole lot more. The Vessel Frame contains a radio receiver tuned to listen in on those exchanges and draws the information on calm e-paper styled after old time broadsheets.

Draw a zone and the Vessel Frame shows detailed information on any ship that enters: name, type, speed, destination and even a scale outline.

The list view shows your detection history: name, type and last-seen time, refreshing automatically as ships come and go.

Set up a map and watch the vessels as they go about their business, sailing into view, mooring up or heading out to sea.
A built-in receiver picks up real broadcasts directly from the ships in range. No internet required, no subscription necessary.
Using e-paper screen and lack of backlight makes the whole thing less a piece of technology and more a piece of art.
Easily create your own or install a community-made visualisation, add support for additional hardware or implement any new feature you can dream up.
